Cotswolds

We have spent three weeks in the Cotswolds, its a very beautiful area of the country and somewhere we wanted to spend sometime. Unfortunately the weather has been atrocious for most of our time here.

Our campsite at Chipping Norton is right next door to Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm shop so we got to check that out, luckily staying at the site allows access on a Monday when the shop is closed to the public – which was great as there was no queueing. It’s very small and very expensive! on the Tuesday when it opened to the public people were queueing all around the car park in the pouring rain to go into the shop! (madness)

Chipping Norton is lovely and has lots of independent shops to explore. We moved further into the Cotswolds and stayed at Moreton In Marsh – another very nice village. We drove through some of the villages everyone talks about such as Lower Slaughter and Bourton On The Water. But the places were very difficult to visit, busy and with the incessant rain we gave up. We will revisit in the Spring and hopefully get a better view of it all.

Our last location was Cirencester a bigger town, after a few days here we made the call to move over to the East Coast again and are now back in Norfolk, the weather is slightly improved here, at least we are getting some breaks from the wind and rain.

Our time in the Cotswolds was impacted by two storms one after the other which put a dampener on it but we hope to go back when the weather improves.
