Day 15 Sedona to Phoenix to San Francisco

So yesterday we drove from Sedona to Phoenix briefly stopping by Bell Rock for a photo. The drive itself was pretty uneventful its about an hour and 50 minutes to Phoenix I was worried about dropping the car off because on google maps it looked complex, but it really wasn’t as it was well signposted and very easy! We dropped the car off with no hassle and got a shuttle Read more…

Day 14 Sedona

Today we booked a ‘Pink Jeep’ Tour called “Broken Arrow”, an off road trip through some of the surrounding countryside. The tour itself was fantastic and I would highly recommend anyone coming to this area do this!, its a bit pricey but so good! the off-roading bit is fun and the views are stunning.

Day 13 – Sedona

The drive down to Sedona from Flagstaff is stunning , Flagstaff sits at 2100 meters above sea level and Sedona sits at 1300 so you’re dropping almost a kilometre in height over the distance of 50 kms.  dropping down alongside Oak Creek We managed to check into motel early and its a bit of a come down from the last two places we’ve stayed in.. but its only for 2 Read more…

Day 12 Flagstaff – Grand Canyon

Today was all about the Grand Canyon.  Its an hour and a half north of Flagstaff and quite a pleasant drive. The Grand Canyon itself is just spectacular, you need to have it on your bucket list. Photographs don’t do it justice, the feeling that you’re seeing something so immense has to be experienced. Tonight is the last night in Flagstaff its been great here. The weather is a bit Read more…

Day 7 – Durango to Santa Fe via Taos

The last night in Durango was tough, not a lot of sleep due to a pair of harpies yelling and screaming until 2350 then kicking off again at 0600.  So not a lot of sleep was had. The stay in Durango has been bipolar, the place is fantastic the scenery has been awesome and Mesa Verde was brilliant. But if I’m honest the accommodation was sub-par. We were lucky that Read more…

Day 6 – Durango Mesa Verde

Today was Independence day! we picked up our car in other words.  I’m not sure we’d do this again waiting so long to pick up a vehicle, but hey we got one now and we can be on our travels. we went back to the airport and picked up the car, a huge Chevy Tahoe. After a brief acclimatisation most importantly how to connect my phone and therefore spotify to Read more…

Day 5 Durango

today was meant to be the reason we came to Durango in the first place and that was ride on the Durango – Silverton steam train. Due to Fire 416 the steam train rides were cancelled but the railroad company put on a smaller ride to cascades creek with a diesel locomotive instead. So today we took a ‘trolley’ into town to go on this ride. Durango itself was very Read more…
