Day 7 – Durango to Santa Fe via Taos
July 11, 2018
The last night in Durango was tough, not a lot of sleep due to a pair of harpies yelling and screaming until 2350 then kicking off again at 0600. So not a lot of sleep was had.
The stay in Durango has been bipolar, the place is fantastic the scenery has been awesome and Mesa Verde was brilliant. But if I’m honest the accommodation was sub-par. We were lucky that the great things we did in Durango, out-weighed the crap accommodation.
Anyway moving on.
Today we were heading to Santa Fe, we decided to go via Taos to see the bridge and the pueblo town.

Much of this trip reminds me of travelling in NZ but getting closer to Taos it flattens out and is quite different.

Just before Taos we came to the bridge. This bridge spans the Rio Grande and is high, at 564ft (171mtrs) its the 7th tallest bridge in the United States.

Taos is very similar to Santa Fe with its plaza and Pueblo buildings.

Then it was onto Santa Fe. checked into hotel and a brief stroll around the plaza.
Tomorrow more Santa Fe and the world cup semis!.
