Day 16 San Francisco to Auckland

So this is it the last day. its currently 07:54 am and the flight home isn’t until 9:45 pm. so we basically have most of the day at the airport that’ll be fun. Mandy has a flight to the UK at 7:35 pm so we need to be there reasonably early 4:00 pm or so which means of course a late checkout from the hotel they’ve let us stay here until 2:00pm which means we can bounce around here most of the day.
So recapping, the trip it was fantastic again, loved most of it disliked some of it.
Highlights:
- Hotel in San Francisco – Great location
- Big Bus tour around San Francisco – Guide was brilliant
- Fire Truck Tour over Golden Gate Bridge – Was fun and different
- Mesa Verde – Wish we’d planned more time here
- Hotel in Santa Fe – So close to plaza
- Hotel in Flagstaff – Great grounds
- Grand Canyon – Still breathtaking scale
- Sedona – Blew us away, everywhere you looked it was a postcard view
- Sedona Pink Jeep Off Road – What an advert for Jeeps, didn’t realise vehicles could do that!
Lowlights:
- Accommodation at Durango was sub-par, was a real disappointment.
- Accommodation at Sedona was not so good either.
Final Thoughts:
- Sorry America, your coffee sucks!
- Driving on the right is pretty easy to get used to.
- only a couple of mistakes made – that poor ladies face when I turned into a one way road was priceless.
- Next USA trip has to be in a different part possibly East coast.
- Time to start the planning!!
