Day 16-17 Final Day in Portugal and Travel to Rome

This last day in Portugal we went out into the sticks a bit more, to see what a rural Portugal looked like. And to be honest it just looked like a drier New Zealand, the day was overcast so not so hot especially when we got a bit higher into the hills.

Once we came back home we relaxed a bit. I watch a bit of the ODI between England and the Black Caps before going out to a bar for a beer.

Mandy and I went home via the beach..

We went back home and packed our cases and went to bed reasonably early as we had a early start for the following day (4:30am)

A good nights sleep was not had however as one of the local bars has a karaoke that went on until 1:30 if i never here “La Bamba” again it’ll be to soon!

Anyway at 5:15 it was time to leave. After an emotional goodbye with my Aunty, Gary and Zanny took us to the airport and we boarded a plane to Rome via Madrid.

The best part of being in this stunning country was being with family. 💕

We arrived in Rome at about 2:15pm and went straight to the Hotel after a rest we had dinner in the hotel after which Mandy ordered an espresso and got gifted 2 little orange cakes and limoncello !! Spoilt!

Tomorrow a bus trip around Rome!
