IWM Duxford

Today we drove south a few miles from Cambridge to visit the Imperial War Museum Duxford an ex RAF base now owned by the Imperial War Museum (IWM). Spent half a day here looking around the different parts.

Being a weekday and not a public holiday its was reasonably empty.

Some great buildings to look through here including the American, and British museums, the Battle of Britain hall and the old RAF Duxford control room where squadrons of fighters both Hurricanes and Spitfires were organised to intercept German bombers and fighters over East Anglia and London
