Easy Company

This morning we drove about 11 km to Utah Beach stopping on the way to visit the Easy Company and Richard Winters Memorial

Utah Beach

The westernmost Landing beach was Utah on the Cotentin peninsula. Around 21,000 men landed on the beach with an additional 14,000 airborne being dropped inland.

Cup of coffee at the cafe.

Back to Saint Mere Eglise for lunch in a restaurant much favoured by the french so we knew it would be good, had some of the local cider which was delicious. We enjoyed the stay here at a private campsite called Camp Pedro, on the edge of the village – used to be a municiple site but now owned by a young couple who are doing a great job providing everything you need when on the road.
