Heading further North

Travelling further up from a pub stopover in Causey we went to Gateshead the Outskirts for Newcastle to look at the Angel of the North. This monument to miners is built on an old coal mining site and stands over 20 meters tall with a wingspan of 54 meters.

It also represents a transition from the industrial age to the information age.

A great looking monument

From the Angel of the North we headed over to Corbridge and a site of a Roman town built near Hadrians Wall.

This was a great place to visit and see quite a large area of Roman ruins with a museum to explore as well.

We stopped for three days at campsite in Belligham (pronounced Bellin’jum) to catch up with some van chores.. we did walk into the village at some point between the rain showers.
