Cairngorm National Park

We are travelling through parts of the Cairngorm National Park on our journey here in Scotland, the views are absolutely amazing, it reminds us a lot of home.

Beautiful locks, moors and forests and some very interesting narrow roads. We came across a small wooden bridge our satnav said we needed to cross only to find it wouldn’t take our weight of van, so had to do a quick turn around and find an alternative road!

The campsite near Aviemore where we spent three nights had some lovely walks around the locks and to the local village and was just a great little spot to spend a few days.

When we first started out on our journey we watched a lot of You-Tubers to get an idea of the lifestyle and one of those channels was Yorkies Travel. Martin and Lesley were doing something similar to us, retiring early, renting out their house and traveling in their motorhome. We met them at the campsite near Aviemore, a really lovely couple and it was great to meet them.

We had an overnight stay in a carpark at Castle Roy just outside of Nethy Bridge.
