TRAVELOGUE

..entries from our travels

Rutland

Heading south on our way to Kent, we are in the smallest county in England Rutland, a new location for both Baz and I we have never been here before.

We are staying in a camping location (CL) in a village called Caldecott (meaning cold cottages in old English) we went for a walk using the local byways across farmland, woods and streams to the village of Rockingham.

There is a castle there which looks very impressive, unfortunately it is only open on Sundays for visitors as it is still a private home so we didn’t get to look inside.

As with every walk we stop and have a coffee and sometimes a treat – today was our first teacake.
