Leeds North Yorkshire to Claypole Lincolnshire
April 15, 2026
We had to take a trip back up to Leeds to get a few minor fixes to the van, which we wanted to get out of the way before we leave for France. We stayed a few miles outside of Leeds at a campsite called Apple Blossom – not our favourite place so far, too many kids, we are getting old and like peace and quiet!
The weather (see we are English and talk about the weather a lot) was also very changeable, we had sunshine in the morning followed by gale force winds and hail in the same day.
The team at Consort were great and sorted out the minor niggles and installed a bluetooth dongle for the solar controller (because Baz doesn’t have enough apps to monitor the van) 🙂 he is happy he can now fully track how we are doing with our solar efficiency.

We have today Tuesday 14th made our way back into Lincolnshire, we are spending a couple of nights here on a farm called Maisie Mays. It is lovely, fields all around, baby lambs, and lots of deer, rabbits and squirrels running about. We have just finished setting up and tomorrow will walk into the local village – we hear there is a good tea shop there with the best cakes, we will let you know…

We are using Polar steps to track our journey as you can see we have concentrated in the eastern part of the country so far, this is about to change as we head further south to reach Kent.

Hi Mandy and Baz,
Looks like retirement is suiting you both. Travelling when and wherever you want. An idyllic lifestyle. There seem to be endless cute camping sites in England, nevermind the weather.
Cheers Tony
