..entries from our travels

Llangollen and Conwy

Leaving Chester it was time to head through Wales towards Holyhead and the ferry to Ireland. The first stop was a place called Ty Ucha just outside of Llangollen. this was a pretty little place and we had booked for two nights but changed it to three as I was as crook as a dog!.

We had a coffee in this converted old mill
The River Dee

After three nights here and still not feeling 100% we moved on towards Anglesey Via Conwy

Conwy Castle

Conwy is famous for its castle this was built by Edward the 1st between 1283 and 1287 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

We stopped at a bar for lunch before heading to our stop for the night. Stayed at a campsite that looked very good but was overrun with kids so not expecting much, ended up having an OK night there and have moved on today to a place called Caergeiliog, lovely adults only campsite with view of Snowdonia mountain ranges. We are also very close to RAF Valley so hoping to see some of the training exercises – disappointed to hear we missed an air show yesterday. We plan to be here for three nights and will be catching the ferry to Ireland on Tuesday morning.
