Anglesey & Ireland

We moved further into Wales and stayed on Anglesey for three nights while Baz tried to get over his cold. We were close to RAF Valley so could see the jets practising. The site isn’t really close to anything but lovely and peaceful (adults only) and we enjoyed the rest here.

We set off for Ireland leaving from Holyhead which is on Anglesey so easy departure port for us.

We drove straight through to Athlone which is right in the middle of Ireland the place Sam now calls home.

Seans Bar, Apparently the oldest pub in Ireland over 1100 years old
Better bar here though, this was a lovely little place.

Sam and his fiancee Ellen are running this bar called Bridies, a small perfectly formed little bar. Lots of the older locals go there and were a real laugh. We had a great night with everyone, Baz drank more Guinness than is good for you but might have helped with his cold!

The next day we met up with some of Ellen’s family including her dad and had a lovely lunch together.
