TRAVELOGUE

..entries from our travels

Derbyshire and then Alton Towers

We have spent a couple of days in the county of Derbyshire, staying just outside Derby, lovely site by the river.

Very pleasant camp in Borrowash

Alton Towers

Yesterday we arrived outside of Stoke on Trent for todays visit to Alton Towers, revisiting our youth! we probably should have left it as a nice memory because we are absolutely shattered after a day walking around the park and going on all the rides. Why do they feel so violent now? felt like we had been beaten up after each one 🙂

Seeing the corkscrew on display as a reminder of what used to be there and the ride that we remember is funny.

Part of the original “Corkscrew” placed at the entrance
Wicker man, the parks Wooden Coaster
The Old “Nemesis” ride overhauled and now called “Nemesis Reborn”
The old ‘Air’ Ride now remodelled as “Galactica”

We managed to get through the day, spent far too much money but it was a one off treat!!!. Now sat back in the van nursing our egos and hoping theres no bruises in the morning.

We are off to Shrewsbury on Saturday to visit Sharon & Mike, looking forward to seeing them.
